Another New Years Day is upon us. It is a time of reflection and resolve. We have put together some of what we feel are great resolutions for 2019.
Get outside-patio, camping, hiking, fishing, hunting, boating
We live in a fantastic time where the world is literally at our fingertips. We can experience anything without having to leave the couch, but there is a big difference between seeing, and doing, and here is the thing; it doesn’t matter if it is the great outdoors, or just outside your door. Just take some time to breathe in the fresh air and see the actual sky.
This isn’t just a great resolution for the warmer seasons or climates either. There is just as much to do in the cold. You can ski, sled, go ice fishing, or just play around in the snow. Just don’t forget to bundle up. When it decides to warm up, get out there and go bird watching, hiking, or swimming. There is so much to do outside when you put down your devices.
There is just something rejuvenating about being outside, and taking a According to the Harvard Health Letter, being outside can be beneficial to your overall health1. So what are you waiting for?
Yardwork-lawn, garden, flower beds
You’ve been meaning to get it done, but there is never time, and you’re never quite motivated enough. Don’t delay! With the proper equipment you’ll have time to spare. It may be that you just want to be more regular about mowing, you want less weeds and more flowers, or maybe you want to start a little garden. With yardwork you get out of it what you put into. Start with a plan, make a calendar, stick to it! You won’t regret it.
Bonus: You will also get outside and get those health benefits we talked about!
Get Organized-repairs renovations, DIY crafts
The hardest part of any project is getting started… AND remembering where you left your tools. You don’t want to spend extra time looking and searching. This year get organized. A place for everything and everything in its place. You will find that when you begin a project with all the tools you need ready to go—your focus will be on the project, you will be in a much better mindset, and the project will finish in a more timely manner. Remember to put everything back when your done so the next project will be just as stellar as the others.
Family Time-puzzles, board games, crafting, cooking
All work and no play is a really boring way to go through life. We believe that time with the family is important. So we say make an effort to include those you care about in any of these resolutions. Have them help with yardwork or spring cleaning, take them camping, or let them help you feed the animals. Whatever it is they, and you, will love it more because you’re together. There is a tremendous amount of caring and support that family can provide.
We want to be a part of your resolution, and we have what you need to keep whatever you resolve to do.
